Water Damage To The House!?

Found out that there was a leak in my house's concrete slab. Had the house re-piped through the attic. Now for the dealing with "MOLD" removal in the kitchen, rip out all cabinets in the kitchen, and stay within a reasonable budget. Have to refloor major portion of the house as well. Anyone with experience in this painful endeavor?

Hi, I had the same thing at my house. The true problem is the mold. If you don’t get rid of it professionally and replace everything that is affected the mold will GROW AGAIN. It is very important to get ALL of it, no matter what the cost. If it grows back, not only will you and your family get really sick, but it will be virtually impossible to sell at a later date. (This is what happened to me!). So, please, just make sure that it is all taken care of professionally and completely. Good luck!

This is a very hard job, don’t take it on yourself. I was a professional, in the “business” for years and still, I almost lost my leg. The place was flooded previously by a backed up sewer line. Although we thought it was cleaned well enough, I was installing tile when I got a microscopic bit in my knee. By the next morning, my leg was swollen three times normal and I spent seven days in hospital trying to save leg. In the meantime I had crew have a professional team come in a steam for molds and bacterias. Then we continued.
It’s nothing to mess around with, dry fungus in air, molds, black and green. If it’s as bad as you say…take heed my friend, good luck.
